I'm renewing my forum to a more modern, flat and fresh look.
I already changed my banner so it have a full width like on this forum.
Now my problem is that my logo and navigation is standing completely to the left of my banner aswell and i want it to have the same position as the rest of my forum.
Actually just as on this forum.
So my banner has a full width and my wrapper is set to max-width: 1400px.
Now i want to set my logo and navigation to the left but in the wrapper his max width.
So now my logo and navigation is standing completely to the left and not in the range of the wrappers max-width of 1400.
Anyone can help me with this, i have no idea what code line i need to edit to become this.
I now have this:
And i want to achieve this just as on this forum:
Thanks a lot,
Jens

Not sure if I can help, I probably can't, but one way of getting a response helping you is to provide your url so people can see for themselves exactly what the issue is.

Why can't you just put the header back inside the wrapper? I don't understand your issue.

Because i have a banner background image and i want it to have a full width,
same for the navigation bar i want the blue background color to have a full width.

Oh, so you want to keep the backgrounds full width, but put the content within the forum wrapper width.
Make a new class inside the header wrapping your logo and navigation. Call it "inside" or something, style it like this:
.inside { width: @wrapper_width; margin: 0 auto; }
So your header HTML would look like:
<header>
<div id="banner-container" role="banner">
<div class="inside">
<h2 id="banner">
$[forum.title]
</h2>
</div>
</div>
<div id="navigation-menu" class="ui-helper-clearfix">
<div class="inside">
<ul role="navigation">
....
</div>
</div>
</header>
Your exact code might be different, but that's the basic idea. A class wrapping the elements you want to fit within the forum wrapper width.

Thanks a lot elly !!
It already helped me halfway now.
The banner is ok now in is now inside the wrapper.
When i do the same for the navigation bar suddenly something goes wrong.
When i put the div tags in the html script on the place you said and i refresh my page the navigation bar is broken.
It looks like the css isn't working anymore or something... wierd.
Any ideas for this issues ?
Thanks a lot already for your help !!
Cheers,
Jens

In the Forum Wrapper template, move the
<div class="clickablebanner">
line to underneath the banner container closing div, but above the line reading
<a id="navigation-skip" href="#content" accesskey="s" class="aria-hidden" title="Skip Navigation">Skip Navigation</a>
Hope this helps! It should move the log in for you, too

Hmmm tried yesterday to make my forum footer.
But now i'm struggeling with the same problem as i had with the banner and navigation.
I want that the footer background has a full width but can't get it to work.
I did the same as "elli" told me in a previous post.
So i used that .inside class also for the footer element, but that doens't work i see ?
<div class="inside">
$[footer]
</div>
Any ideas how i need to do it so my footer background have a full width ?
Thanks a lot,
Jens

Well this is odd?!
The first time I helped you, I told you to move the "clickablebanner" div, but that was my mistake, because that's a div I have in
MY template, not the div YOU was meant to move. Looking back, I can't work out what div I meant for you to move. So I'm not sure how what I said helped!
!
Anyway!
So, you want the footer to be full width, basically? Just move
$[footer] so it's
below the closing DIV for <div id="wrapper">
Best of luck

Hello,
I'm here again with an other little issue
It's about the forum footer. All my pages have a full-width footer but only my pages with the thread list not ?
Any idea how why this is and how i can solve it ?
It looks like this:
Only my background is wrong. And i checked the code and it says my footer is standing in the forum wrapper there and i putted my footer in the global forum footer ?
Thanks,
Jens
