My old Border Around Forum code, except made into a layout template/CSS mod. Allows you to have a graphical border around your forum that you might have made in photoshop, and you can splice it up and use as a head/base/back. It is important that your design is spliced/cut correctly for it to look seamless. Here's an example using an old skin of mine:
Add this code (with or without the comments, I added them in so its easy for you to recognize and customize) into your
Layout Template > Forum Wrapper. It should go ABOVE <div id="wrapper">
<!-- Smangii's Border Around Forum with Images -->
<div id="borderHead"></div>
<div id="borderBody">
<!-- Everything in the border after this -->
Then scroll down and add this bit of code right ABOVE {if $[is_mobile_browser]}
<!-- Everything in the border before this -->
</div>
<div id="borderFoot"></div>
<!-- Smangii's Border Around Forum with Images -->
Save your changes! You won't see anything yet, because you need to add the images into your CSS. Go to
Advanced Styles & CSS > Stylesheet and add this code anywhere:
/* Smangii's Border Around Forum with Images */
@border_width: 900px;
#borderBody {
margin: 0 auto; width: @border_width;
background: url('add background image here') center repeat-y;
}
#borderHead{
margin: 0 auto; display: block; width: @border_width;
height: 100px;
background: url('add header image url here') center no-repeat;
}
#borderFoot{
margin: 0 auto; display: block; width: @border_width;
height: 100px;
background: url('add footer image url here') center no-repeat;
}
Add the image URLs in the appropriate places, and change @border_width to the width of your border images (they should all be relatively the same width, but if not, it is okay to set this number a bit higher).
Make sure to set the height of each header/footer image, too.
Save your changes, then voila!
In order to change the width of the actual content WITHIN the border, you can use the Visual Editor and edit the Forum Width to be smaller/larger in order to fit within your border.
Enjoy!
