I've been pretty active in the Welcome board here and noticed almost EVERY new person is coming here to learn how to skin or code. Then they never post again. which can mean either they found what they needed and left, or couldn't find it and just left, Or just left

Either way were losing those members and I was trying to see if we can devise a way to keep them and make them active.
Now I seen this thread here:
smangii.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=feedback&action=display&thread=36437But is there some way we could do a community project or something to make SI help those members more? I seen smangii's "how to make a forum skin" and thought how cool it would be if we could do more. I know we need the people to do it but what if we made another symbol for it or something? or a whole area on the forum to help these members, and I mean something more than just the support boards here.
I dont know how to do it but maybe you guys here could help me brain storm something or throw some good ideas together?
And I read this thread too:
smangii.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=feedback&action=display&thread=36290And I agree lets give those members a reason to stay and post. I learned the little coding and designing I do know from Zamanto back in the day.
Just my ideas

Yes, this seems like a good idea. We could start a polling to see how many people are interested.
Doesn't have to be something big, just simple lessons I suppose.

I (as a new member) thinks its a great idea. I would like to help, but I don't know too much about things in here..

And like I said we could use some kinda of incentive for others to post some too. A poll could be a great idea. We just needa get ideas for now
I'm around and round we go

Maybe. Do most new members want support, or requests, though?

How about making a poll asking people why they joined ? Gives an idea of what they want..

Everyone joins for codes and resources

Yea, that's what I tried to point out with my thread. View the last page, I gave a possible solution.

I think this is the post your referring to.
Well, the thing is that lots of people don't show any appreciation or help us back in any way. We're trying to keep this forum alive (the coding and support sections), which isn't the easiest on proboards nowadays. Posting would definitely help the community, even if it was a smaller amount.
Maybe a "support points"-system would be interesting. On registration you get a point for support and you can use that. If you wish to have more support you could earn them by posting, e.g. an extra support point every 25 posts.
Yeah I like ideas like that. But we do need a way to keep these members here longer

Yea that's the one I was referring to.
Well, I think it might help them to get to know the community a bit more before asking stuff and that might convince them to actually stay for general chitchat and stuff, other than just requests/support.

Exactly, and if we have a post count requirement we might force the post outta them. But we seriously needa do something.
