Be it programming/designing...
For me, it is taking more time on projects I work on. I remember I used to get so excited once I felt like I was almost finished. I just wanted to get my stuff out there to hear what people think etc. Nowadays, I try to hold off on showing people stuff and it's helped me be more critical of my work, because usually it looks good after a couple hours of work, but the next day you realize how sh*tty something is.
The Time Machine worked, I’ve arrived back at SI circa 2012… uhhhh, wait… 2023? f~~k.

Considering I went from
This to where I am now, I think it's pretty self explanatory.

Don't be afraid of going forward, be more afraid of staying put. Experiment and try new things.. I went from posting pretty pics to really wanting a handle on coding.

I have learned a lot over the years. I use to use tables for EVERYTHING, now I use divs or sections. I use to constantly us in page styles and now mainly external style sheets. I even recently taught myself some basic java script.
We'll burn that bridge when we come to it.

Take time to write clean code when that code is going to be used for a long time
Be willing to write sh*t code to get stuff done

This one for me too.
Also, my JS skills are way better by now.

Okay
I've learned the concept of semantic/DRY CSS (Don't Repeat Yourself)
How to make a page responsive and mobile-friendly
How to make adaptive emails
How to compress websites with Gzip and other server optimization techniques...
How to deal with clients, especially when they decide they don't need to pay me
Also, my script and PHP skills have significantly improved. Markup is overall cleaner, file sizes are smaller...

Spatula why does gzip remind you of dreg?
because when we were making one of my premade skins, which he helped me code with some fluid banner, he said he used gzip to optimize stuff for the skin, i think it was for the skin
sounds like fun on a bun!

I dunno how to articulate what I've learned, it's mostly trial and error? ^^;' But I do think I've come a long way, I understand HTML and CSS better, have a rudimentary grasp on js (whereas before it was completely unintelligible), understand colours better, and have dropped all the bevels and busy sh*t I used to do.
I mean,
this was one of the first layouts I made that wasn't just a banner with a hasty background, versus
my most recent one.
And when it comes to illustration I think I've come a very long way.
