Just wondering, anyone been practicing this lately?
If you're not familiar with what responsive web design is, it's basically the idea of using CSS media queries to adjust the layout and size of a website based on the viewport window, or browser window size. For example, if you're on a desktop, the website would be full size; if you're on a tablet, the layout will change and the images will resize to better suit the size of the tablet, and similarly for a mobile browser.
It's really pretty neat, and a relatively new concept, though in web years, it's been around for a while considering how fast things change.
Here's an article about it on SmashingMagazine if you wanna read more.
Today, my employers expressed interest in implementing this in our next website remodel. So I'll be doing that in the next 6 months... Just wondering if anyone else had been toying around with it.

Since I do bugger all, the closest I come to doing it is using percentages for widths on PB lol

This sounds dope, but the article is too long and I just woke up so I'll post here to remember to read later
Really something that fits with the times. Would mean no need to design specifically for mobile devices
I also see that you can compress images based on if the person is on mobile? (just what I saw on quick glance of the article).

I have. It has pros and cons. In the end I prefer not to use it, or just slightly, because often it's not done properly and you actually make people with ipad's with high reso have a sh*tty website rather than the real deal.

I've been playing with it for a while now not for live websites but more so for the knowing how to do it. I think it's pretty important to learn as we see more and more portable web devices around, I think we'll see it being common practice in the years to come.
We'll burn that bridge when we come to it.

I'm planning to redo my portfolio website soon, I think I'll be making it at least party responsive. It only really needs to adjust for smartphone/iPhone-sized devices, tablets tend to be alright with the desktop site as long as there aren't any tiny buttons.

Know any good tutorials on it? I've found a few, but I can't find the jQuery snippet that detects the viewport and adjusts based on the stylesheets accordingly...
sounds like fun on a bun!

Kinda sorta. I'm trying to get into it too, I just haven't had much time.
