KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS: fixing them photoshop

Some pretty old articles I wrote for the magazine at ProVision, hope you guys learn something from them. 
Don't we all like to get our pieces done as quick as possible? Don't we all hate doing extra steps in order to get a simple effect that you could easily achieve in a couple of seconds? Don't we all HATE it when PaintShop Pro crashes on us when we are just busy with an awesome piece? [/hate end]
Well, all of this could've been avoided if you just bought Photoshop instead! Yes, that's true Photoshop crashes less and you can even type it faster, one less letter (PS = Photoshop; PSP = PaintShop Pro).
Naah, but seriously just a note to everyone: there isn't exactly a difference between PS nor PSP, they both can produce the same thing. ANYWAY, I've typed a lot of useless stuff already so let's begin with this month's Graphic Hint.
Okay, so like I said it's annoying having to move your mouse around just to click a specific tool when you can just use a key board shortcut. I'm going to show you how you can work faster with just a few modifications.
First, check out some of the shortcuts PS has set as default: go to Edit > and at the bottom there's 'Keyboard Shortcuts..' (and lookie there's also a shortcut for modifying your shortcuts! How cool is that?).
It should be easy working with the program from now on, just play around a bit and you'll figure it out. Or if you're still having problems then don't hesitate to PM me or make a new thread in the Design board.
Now for some shortcuts that I personally always use (or find handy):
* CTRL + W => closes the current open window in PS.
* P => pen tool!
* V => move tool!
* CTRL + Z = undo, one time only; CTRL + ALT + Z = more times, you can set a specific number here: press CTRL + K, new window will pop-up named "Preferences", from there you go to 'Performance' then 'History & Cache' and finally you can fix the number at the 'History States' one. After you're done press OK.
[(\] => increase brush size.
* [ => decrease brush size.
* CTRL + E => fuse two layers together.
* CTRL + Left mouse click => do this on a layer thumbnail and it'll select the contents in the layer for you.
As you can see there is a lot of shortcuts, but I can't continue naming them. Just check the Keyboad Shortcut's section or experiment around with the CTRL and ALT buttons, try clicking random letters and see what you get.
NOTE: you can also make shortcuts of your favorite little effects, like add a thick white border with just one click! Just check the article I wrote in Issue two on Actions, very handy little tool.

This will save me so much time. Im always looking for tools. I spend more time looking for things then i do making the image. im such a noob

Haaha, yeah, shortcuts are reaaally useful. I've recently started to use them a lot, even the simple things like the letters P (chooses Pen Tool) and B (chooses Brushes/Pencil tool) are handy.
To find out which tool is which letter just hover over the tool, the Pen tool for example shows "Pen Tool (P)".
